“It must be remembered that we have heard one side of the case. God has written all the books.” Smith is a 1950s gay pulp fiction writer. He pens two cult classics, “Handsome Menace; Gay Terror Wrapped in Leather” and “Belle Rouge, Femme Fatale of the Night.” One day, while sitting in jail, again, Smith pens his latest sentence: Handsome Menace and Belle Rouge accelerate the car, driving it through the jailhouse concrete - THEN BOOM! It happens. Out pops Handsome Menace and Belle Rouge come to rescue Smith. But, if Handsome Menace and Belle Rouge are here . . . that means every character, every villain, every monster, every plot point Smith has ever written is now off the pages and in the real world.

"Demons" starts in the real world and then slowly melts into pure fictional fantasy—both worlds clashing in real-time and in real life. "Demons" is a show about three heroes battling enemies from within and from the outside. Chained to self-loathing, our heroes refuse to succumb to any other will but their own. Smith, Handsome Menace and Belle Rouge will battle a different foe in each episode, all while fighting to write storylines of their own choosing.
